I own a Whites DFX that I have had great adventures with. It was passed on to me by my late father, who introduced me to the art of Metal Detecting as a youngster. This is my best memory of the time I spent with him, we would walk and talk and find Treasure. I use my Whites DFX to anything that is old; there was an old store in front of my parent’s house where I find a lot of coins, war metals, bottle tops, and my favorite find, an old Barbie Watch. My White's DFX always gives me a strong reading of where the object is and have never dug without a great find. The smooth controls and preset programs with automatic ground balancing make it easy to use.
Whites DFX are one of the best on the market especially for beginners. I like the lightweight of my Whites DFX, being I am a very small lady; it does not put any strain on me while walking for sometimes hours. Metal Detecting is something that is passed on from generation to generation, I have passed it on to my three sons and they like to try and "out find me" they have come close, but with I will always be the champ with my Whites DFX.
I will and have recommended the Whites DFX to friends and family, I purchased one for my sons so we can walk and talk together as I did with my father.

I was 59 years old when I purchased my first metal detector. Of course, it was a White's DFX. Its been 6 years now and I am still having fun using my DFX.
It has brought me not only joy but also some amazing finds. I have found Indian Head pennies, Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, Morgan dollars, silver rings, necklaces and bracelets, keys, toys, Coke tabs along with some gold objects. I have found a 14 karat man's gold filigree crucifix and a wedding band. But my best find (so far) has been a 14 karat gold engagement ring with a total of 1-1/2 karat diamonds. I was so excited when I found it and once I calmed myself down, I found my knees were shaking. I had been digging for about half an hour and then came up with this treasure. Now, was it real? I had to find out so I drove to our local jeweler. She said, "yes, its real" before she even cleaned the sand away. I was so thrilled and couldn't wait to show my wife my good fortune. Well that good fortune now belongs to her and I gave it to her and she wears it proudly. I found this ring while using my White's Beachhunter in NJ where we live.
I also have a Minelab Explorer II but enjoy working with my White's best.
I generally use my White's DFX when I go on Club hunts.
While on a hunt in Lancaster, Pa. we hunted for tokens for prizes such as a metal detector, $1000 grand prize, gold coins and nuggets. I found tokens which awarded me Morgan dollars, a 1992 proof silver dollar as well as some smaller items. I had fun.
In Passaic County, NJ I found a badge which says it is a "PeeWee Rough Riders" medallion. It is made of non-precious metal and we decided to research it and found out it was named after former-President Theodore Roosevelt. The organization was located in Ocean Grove, NJ where they have a small museum. We visited this museum and they knew of this PeeWee medallion, and even had a photo of the former president with the young boys belonging to the organization. We found out the organization dated back to 1905. It too was an exciting find.
Since I enjoy this hobby so much I have taken it along with us while on vacation. My uncle, who has turned 84, was so enthusiastic after I had let him use my detector that he has purchased his own White's detector from Kellyco and he is looking forward to the warmer weather so he can begin finding his own treasures. I am anxious to visit him and join him on his hunts and see what he finds.
I have found my DFX easy to work with and set up. I have added my own program into it and find it very easy to use and since we live near the NJ shore I use the beach and jewelry settings most, but have also used relic and the coin settings. I have recommended the DFX to many people who are interested in buying a metal detector urging them to buy a White's DFX and that they will be sure to be satisfied with their purchase.

I have always wanted a metal detector and finally took the plunge.
I chose a Whites DFX E series because of the good things I had heard about them. As I was watching a National Geographic documentary on Custer’s Last Stand, I noticed that a Whites Metal Detector was being used in their historic hunt. That encouraged me even more to purchase a Whites metal detector. I am not good at setting up electronic programs or equipment so the fact that the White’s would arrive with pre-set programs was a bonus for me.
Balancing the DFX takes less that 10 seconds and the instructions are right on the display screen. The direction booklet that comes with is easy to understand. I have found many coins, some are wheaties, and silver coins. So far, my best find is a 3 oz .925 solid silver bracelet I found on the beach at Cancun.
One can use the DFX in water as long as you don't get the electronic control box wet. You should rinse the salt water off the machine before putting it away and again be careful not to get water in the electronic control box.
After I had been detecting for a while, my husband decided to join in on the fun. So he ordered his detector from Kellyco. It is good exercise for both of us and nice to spend the time together without distractions. Depending where we are detecting, it is also a good way to meet new friends. Seems like every time we are detecting, someone will ask questions about where they can purchase a detector and I always give them the web site for Kellyco.
We have spoken with Tony at Kellyco and he has been very helpful to answer any questions we have. Since we have had experience with purchasing from Kellyco and the good service they give, we highly recommend Kellyco.

Wow, just to talk about my White's DFX excites me. I have been detecting since 1964 and I am just as excited now as I was when I started. I have always purchased the new and improved machines as I feel as I needed and edge in the new technology available.
The presets on the DFX are great especially if one is new at detecting. Anytime I find someone that is interested in my hobby I hand them the detector and show them the basics and off they go and then their hooked. I explain the benefits of the DFX and how they don't have to buy a cheap detector and then want to improve by keep buying a better one. The DFX is capable of being used by the beginner and professional and I really believe it will be the last detector they will have to buy unless White's ever finds a way to improve it.
I use the presets for newer areas I search but when I feel that there are older areas that may hold those deeper valuable items I plug some holes and put various coins in at different depths and then adjust the DFX to get the deepest signals and adjust for the variety of different soil conditions. The DFX is truly a machine with a computer that can be adjusted to any condition necessary. I have owned just about every detector on the market I have never been able to accomplish the control the DFX furnishes.
I have pulled rings and old silver coins out of parks that have been worked to death and some have been deeper than 10 inches or more. I have worked a lot of beaches and the addition of loops available for greater depths have given me some great finds. I have also had the good fortune of finding small gold nuggets with the DFX and working slowly and listening for those special sounds that we get by knowing our detector make it possible.
Every day I wake up, I think of places to take my DFX. It is truly my best friend and has found many interesting things and has paid for itself many, many times.
