In April of 2007, I purchased a Bounty Hunter Gold Digger Metal Detector
It has been one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.
Now there are those who would laugh and say “Hey, it’s just a cheap toy”. Well, the truth is, you hear and read so often how someone with a less expensive Detector goes out and finds as much if not more than those with Detectors that have a boat load of bells, whistles and knobs on them to contend with. Well, that someone is ME. I have found lots of coins, silver class rings, and other such items with it.
A SIDE NOTE HERE: You know, it has to be real irritating to someone who just laid down hundreds or maybe a thousand or so dollars for a detector only to learn they could do the same thing with a much less expensive unit.
You’ve also heard the statement, KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID (KISS). Well, it’s true.and that is exactly what the Gold Digger is, SIMPLE and easy to use. It’s a true turn on and go instrument. Just insert the two batteries, turn the switch on, set your discrimination knob to the position shown in the users manual for the targets you are looking for and GO. The detector does the rest.
I live in Arizona and have scanned fields, school yards, parks etc. in my local area and at many other locations along Highway 89 from Salt Lake City Utah to Phoenix Arizona and every time I go hunting, I have found something good.
Working together, the discrimination and the automatic ground balancing features in the Gold Digger saves you time and prevents you from having those back aches caused from digging junk. The tones the Gold Diggers gives for various targets are clear and unmistakable. Believe what it is telling you.
Because the Gold Digger is inexpensive while being an affective Detector, mine has already paid for itself and I have had it less than a year now.
I am close to retirement age and when I do retire, my wife and I plan to go walking in the footsteps of outlaws in the "bad lands" of Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona to locate their hidden loot and relics. When I do, my Gold Digger Detector will be right there with us also, doing its thing.
I can promise you that if you buy a Bounty Hunter Gold Digger Metal Detector, you will not regret it.

I am new to metal detecting. After purchasing a Bounty Hunter, Gold digger at one of the discount stores I found that I need a better one for what I am interested in. I am interested in gold prospecting. I need a metal detector that is better suited for gold prospecting. I found a few coins at playgrounds with my Bounty Hunter, Gold Digger, but that's all. After talking to a few prospectors who belong to metal detecting clubs here in Georgia, they agree I need something better. I wouldn't recommend this metal detector to anyone else.
