As someone who hasn't been detecting in a while, I recently got the itch to get back into the hobby. I have to admit, I had been "lurking" the KellyCo website for a few months before my purchase, just checking out their latest deals and specials.
After a little research and some browsing, I decided on the The Titan 1000XD and it is a real treasure - right out of the box. I knew I didn't need anything top of the line but I didn't want anything that was too basic either.
The Titan 1000 really fit the bill with all the features I wanted at an affordable price. Within minutes, I was able to assemble the Titan (snap, click DONE!) and get right out to do some treasure hunting. The instructions were easy to understand and within half hour or so I was able to really get to work. The Titan 1000 is very sensitive and a little practice with it will go a long way towards some successful treasure hunts.
As spring breaks here on the East Coast, I am looking forward to getting out with my Titan 1000 on a regular basis. It is the PERFECT detector for someone who is just beginning or, like me, someone who wants to get back into it on a semi-regular basis. It is lightweight, durable and easy to handle. The LCD display is easy to read and, more importantly, easy to understand.
A little bit of "swinging time" in your backyard or at the neighborhood park and you will soon be able to tell whether that beep is a beer tab or the tabula rasa. I highly recommend the Titan 1000 to anyone looking to make an entry into the detecting hobby. It has great features and an affordable price. I also recommend you buy it at Kellyco. Their accessory bonuses (carry bag, magazine, digger, etc.) give you everything you need to get started in the field of metal detecting.

Yep, pretty much a noob here, but, I AM HOOKED!!!
Been at it little over a year now and absolutely love being outdoors looking for relics and coins. While I haven't had great success I have had some. Not knowing anything at all about detecting, I have poured over story after story Lost Treasure and a few THing books, which have helped me learn techniques that work for me. Titan 1000xd was extremely intimidating till I got out there and actually did it. Now I use it with ease and feel i am ready to upgrade. Of course my 13 year old daughter has grown pretty enthusiastic about going with me when she can and has learned to use it as well. My titan was really easy to teach here how to use and will make her a nice detector once I aquire a new one. While I have learned that the descriminations are quite what some of the better detectors are, the titan does offer enough of a variety that with lots of practice and use, I have learned more how to read the tons and ID indicator of was I am hitting on and have quit digging up as much junk as before. I would definitely recommend a Titan to any beginner and as of late thought of buying a Titan 3000xd for myself. I like the display features on it and have seen a few reviews on it and how much people love it. With a limited budget it defintely fits both price range and I believe will benefit me. Some of the area I have hit with my titan 1000xd were pretty trashy but one old swimming hole yielded several mercury dimes and a few silver quarters to included my first standing liberty. One feature of love most of my titan is the ease I can carry it around anywhere I go, from short one day outtings to long trips with the family.
