The Predator is a very good detector for the price. I looked for the most value for my money and decided to get the Predator. I have been very pleased with everything about this detector. I did not want lots of knobs, switches, or gizmos. I preferred something simple to operate that would find coins and jewelry, perhaps larger treasures if I came across any. This is one of the easiest detectors I have ever used. I have owned others that required me to do too many things to get it going, and I never really knew if it was working right. I never made any unusual or really deep finds. Surprisingly, the Predator has made deeper finds for me from the first day I used it, seated liberty dime at 8 inches. Also, I found a 14kt gold wedding band at 6 inches, and a large number of Indian head pennies from 2 to 10 inches deep. I have already found over 250 coins, 8 rings, some with diamonds, some with jewels, and lots of gold jewelry close to where I live. I rate the Predator 5 stars.

Jonathan (13 years) finally has the chance to test his birthday present; a Kellyco Predator Metal Detector.

"Dad, I want to go look for gold or old coins. Do you know of a good place for that?" he asked me. "Sure, you know, there are quite a few old foundations in the woods of homes which were abandoned around 1900. Some of the inhabitants left for the United States. A lot of Swedes left the country in those days you know." His eyes started to sparkle with excitement as we dressed and left the house. After a fifteen-minute walk, we reached an area where once upon a time a house had stood. Jonathan started to work his way around the moss covered granite blocks. "Beep, Beep, Beep; Dad I have something here". Of course, somebody has to do the dirty work so I started digging. An old horseshoe and a few rusty nails... Not to be discouraged, he started scanning the ground a little further from the foundation. "Beep, beep, beep; Dad, over here!" This time, he had narrowed the sensitivity of the metal detector. "Dig here dad" he said. By now, the thrill of the treasure hunt was getting to me as well. I carefully dug a square with the shovel. The shovel went about a hand deep before it stuck the granite rock underneath. Carefully pulling the square patch of soil and moss, my son ran the detector over the patch I had removed. The detector went wild. We examined the patch carefully and out fell these old-reading glasses from around 1900, neatly folded and with the glass still intact in the frame.

So, they were 100 year old reading glasses, but to my son, they are worth their weight in gold!
