I took the wader out on the dry sand to hunt a few weeks ago for the first time.
This beach is known for its nails.
Being the first time out, I decided to dig everything.
I found about $18.00 in coins, a .925 silver woman's ring, and some cheap jewelry.
There was also plenty of the usual trash.
After a while using this detector, I could predict by the sound it made what would be under the coil.
It sounded raspy and broken usually indicating iron base metals.
It ID on buried pop cans at lease 14 to 18 inches deep and on good targets (coins , Jewelry ) with a strong definite clear signal.
I went back to another part of the beach the following weekend and found another $ 800 in coins plus the usual trash.
I could see that someone had been there hunting the day before.
Nobody gets everything as there's always stuff left behind.
Both of those hunts were done in about a 10 hour period.
I'd say it's a very good machine and I recommend it for beach hunting.
It is very easy to carry and use. Also, the pinpointing is very easy to get used too.
Now I have to get in the water with it to see how it does.

I found the Detector Pro very easy to use as you soon get used to the sounds it makes, it took a few weeks but I find most detectors take practice. It gives positive sounds on the good things but a crackle when scrap is about and as there are lots of nails on our beaches. The best thing though is the light weight you can swing it all day without getting tired and with all the electronics in the headphones there is little water resistance. Most of my finds are in the winter when it rains a lot so when other detectors cannot be used I am out finding the good stuff with the beaches to myself. I detect a lot in rock pools and the small head and thick resin coating makes it durable, I don't think a lot of detectors will stand the hard ware being hit on rocks all day.
I have now found gold and silver rings 300kg fishing weights loads of coins from all round the world plus an 1855 sovereign in mint condition. Best of all it gets me out walking on the beaches getting loads of exercise.
