I'm not sure which we have. We brought it down the shore a few years ago. I know it is probably no good but we love combing the beach at sunset. It is such a great hobby. It is very easy to get hooked on! The kids love it! We haven't really found anything valuable, but, for me the value is in the hours of enjoyment we get from it. It is so exciting to hear the tiny beeping and thinking that we are going to unearth something fantastic. It could happen!

I purchased the DetectorPro Headhunter Pirate new from Kellyco and found four rings with it in three and a half trips.

One ring was really great, and it alone probably paid for the machine. It was a man's heavy size 10 gold (10k) ring with 9 facet-cut diamonds. The machine was working fine on the fourth trip out, when all of a sudden it went crazy, chattering. No shock or water caused this. It was completely dry.

I know of a couple others that did the same thing. The DetectorPro has a good service department, and they replaced my unit! Now, the Pirate has an excellent discrimination system, and it is as close to perfect as you will find. The preset sensitivity is also near perfect for my freshwater locations. If you get it near a target, it will let you know. This is the easiest machine I've ever used. I've been digging for close to 30 years. I just hope it doesn't give any more trouble.

The DetectorPro Headhunter Pirate Metal Detector has been great for me and my family. I give it five out of five possible gold coins as a rating! This is the perfect detector for the beginner (or experienced user,) who wants a fun and relaxing experience that can be shared with the whole family.

I enjoy beach combing after a storm, and let me tell you this is the perfect machine for me. It weighs less than 4 lbs., so it's not too heavy to walk along the beach with. I also have 3 kids who have to play with my toys on top of theirs, so this works great for the rest of my family.

Its design is comfortable enough to last for hours, and I don't have to change hands as much as with heavier versions. It works great on the sand as well as walking through the surf. I have never had the battery run out on me even over a long week-end. It's affordable and lightweight enough to get you hooked on the hunt without breaking your back, or the bank.

We live in Florida and follow the beaches on both coasts. After major storms we usually hunt around the surf. The Pirate is light and easy to pack, which really helps when packing space is already at a premium in our travel plans. We get a lot of questions while we're out, and everyone we meet is impressed with its size and weight. Most people expect more heft, which just wouldn't work for me. If I'm going to be out for more than an hour (which is easy to do when you get wrapped up in your hunting, and lose track of time) then I need something lightweight and easy to use. We could not be happier with our Pirate, and highly recommend it.

The DetectorPro Headhunter Pirate is not a detector that I personally own, but it was borrowed from a friend when I went to visit in Myrtle Beach. The detector worked great, but I didn't know what I was doing or where to start searching for my treasure. I was hoping that if I win this contest, I could win my own detector and go searching. I have always been a scavenger at heart, looking for coins, old things long lost and forgotten and I think it takes a special person to like this typle of hobby. It also helps if you have friends that like to do the same thing, but it can be a satisfying hobby all by your lonesome too.

My first day on the beach, I only found junk but later that night, the bunch of us went to an outdoor seafood restaurant that had a bar and volleyball court outside...it was late and the place was almost empty..I got an idea to go scan the sand in the volleyball pit (with the manager's permission of course) and I found a bracelet and an earring; the manager said to keep the stuff but I left my name and phone number just in case someone reported something missing.

It was such a rush just to uncover something but now I just want my own detector so I can be on the move searching where ever I go. I can only imagine the findings after a big storm, Wow!
